Ever since my OB appointment I am happy to say that I haven't had any more bleeding. I'm hoping this continues! The last few weeks up until yesterday I was feeling a lot better. The nausea has lessened and I have had more energy. However Monday and especially Monday night, Tuesday and now its early Wednesday morning have been awful. My stomach hurts and I am so nauseous. I feel like I have the flu and I have a migraine! I'm really hoping I feel better again soon. I'm on-call tonight as well so hopefully they don't call me in. I have to work tomorrow night and then its Thanksgiving! I really hope I feel good for that!
I'm still not showing but I feel like my pants are tight. Only 2 weeks left until I'm in my second trimester! I'll try to post a pic either next wk or the next.

First OB Appointment
Today I got to see my Doctor for the first time. It was good to get some questions answered. She said my ultra sound looked good and that 95 % of babies who have a heart rate detected go on to have normal pregnancies. So that made me feel better. I am still on pelvic rest because I am still bleeding on and off. If I am still bleeding after 12 wks I need to call her and perhaps get another ultra sound. I had a pelvic exam and blood tests today which are routine. My next appointment is December 13.
Some exciting news Josh and I got this weekend is that we are going to be an aunt and uncle in June as well! Josh's sister is about 1 wk ahead of me! It's going to be so fun going through this with her. And our babies can have a playmate!
Please keep your prayers coming!

10 weeks!
So I don't have any belly pics to share this week. I don't really have a bump but I will share pics of my little babes. I am convinced (along with many other ppl) that it is a boy. I don't know why it's just a feeling.
At the ultra sound Saturday they showed me what the subchorionic hemorrhage looked like. It looks to me like there might be another one but I'm not sure. I have a OB appointment on Wednesday so we'll see what she has to say. Either way its still small. My little babes was wiggling all over in there (not that I could feel it) and the heart rate was 183. It was fun to see.
I've been feeling a little better lately. The nausea is still there and I constantly feel bloated but it's not as bad as it had been. I'm hoping it gets better and better over the next few weeks.
Here's another pic of my beautiful little babes!
The ultra sound is measuring me at 9 wks and 2 days in these pics where as I think I am 9wks and 5 days. Pretty close though. I'll update on how the OB appointment goes later this week!
Please keep praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy!

Subchorionic what???
Yesterday I went to my first OB appointment. When I got there however I was informed that Dr Looby had gotten called to a delivery and had to cancle our appointment. Even though I understand this happens (I've had to call her to a delivery myself) I was upset. With all this bleeding I just wanted to get some answers. I rescheduled my appointment for next Wednesday because I work the rest of the week. However last night I got canceled and didn't have to go into work (so excited!). So this morning I called to see if they had any last minute openings. They informed me that Dr Looby was home with her family; they all had the stomach flu. Great! I explained that I was having more bleeding and was just nervous. They had an opening Friday but I work Thursday night so it didn't work. I decided just to keep my appointment.
My mom and me went out for lunch today and when I got home I realized I had a message. It was Dr Looby's office. I called back and they said they would like to set up another ultrasound to check on the Subchorionic Bleed that was most likely absorbing and what was causing my bleeding. At this point I'm confused. What is that and why didn't I know I had this! I explained that no one had called me to inform me of the results of my ultrasound. The lady was suprised and apologized and explained what it was. This is what I looked up about it.
What it is: Also called subchorionic hematoma, subchorionic bleeding is the accumulation of blood within the folds of the chorion (the outer fetal membrane, next to the placenta) or within the layers of the placenta itself. These bleeds, or clots, can cause the placenta to separate from the uterine wall if they get too large, if they develop in a bad spot, or if they aren’t eventually reabsorbed.
How common is it? A good 20 percent of pregnant women will experience some kind of bleeding early in pregnancy, though it’s often hard to tell what’s causing the problem. Subchorionic hematomas are even harder to pick up because they don’t always result in noticeable spotting or bleeding, especially when they’re small.
Should you be concerned? You wouldn’t be normal if you didn’t worry when you see blood, no matter when it occurs in your pregnancy. And that’s actually a good thing, especially if it prompts you to get in touch with your practitioner, who can make sure there’s nothing amiss. While most subchorionic hematomas dissolve on their own, it is possible for the clot to get in between the placenta and the uterine wall, resulting in miscarriage.
Here’s the encouraging news: More than half of women who bleed during their first trimester go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies. But because subchorionic hematomas have been linked to increased risk of placental abruption and preterm labor, you don’t want to ignore signs of spotting or bleeding.
The lady on the other end of the phone said that mine was small and will most likely be reabsorbed. I can't help but be nervous though. I will most likely be having an ultrasound Saturday or Monday. We are working on the scheduling. For now I'm on pelvic rest and shouldn't lift heavy objects (like my patients).
Please keep me and baby in your prayers. We are both nervous about this bleeding. Pray that God heals my placenta and keeps us both healthy!

9 Weeks
I remember when 9 weeks felt like it would never get here! And now its here!
This weekend Josh and I went to a comedy show downtown since I was having one of those rare moments I felt somewhat "normal". Afterwards we went to Pepino's for some drinks (I got a coke and food). Josh's friends kept asking me questions like "you just don't feel like drinking?' I knew they were suspicious especially since 2 weeks ago at the wedding I didn't drink either. Eventually (and after a few drinks) they got bold and just asked "Is Heidi pregnant?" Josh can't lie so they all knew right away. I'm happy our friends know. Everyone gave us hugs and congratulated us. It was fun.
I'm still spotting on and off which makes me nervous. Today was a bad day as far as how I feel goes. I did a friends hair this morning and barely made it through. I felt so sick. It doesn't matter what I do today I feel nauseous. I'm not showing at all but I took a pic anyways. Here I am at 9 weeks.
Here's a close up! Notice the pajamas I've been in...ALL DAY!!!
First OB appointment tomorrow! Excited to possibly hear the heart beat!

8 Weeks 2 Days
So I thought about taking an eight week pic but I don't look any different. But I guess I need a before pic too. So I'll take a 9 week pic.
I'm still not feeling good. I'm SOOOOOooooooo nauseated and the Zofran isn't really helping much. It's frustrating to never feel good. I'm ready for my second trimester any day now.
I have my first OBGYN appointment next week Tuesday. Maybe I'll hear the heart beat :)
